Aircraft maintenance and overview

a tool that supports all level employees, from filed workers to management, in their work of keeoping aircaft up to date, functional and safe

Fleet engineer support app

General:

As airspace is a very specific and technical field, multiple workshops were necessary in order for both design and developemnt to get a better understanding of the technical aspects of the user’s workflow.

During these workshops we have been introduced to technical terms and explenations of the apps requiremnts.

The design process includeded getting familiarised with the current way of acieving the required goals, understanding the key points and key interests of the tasks, interviewing future users in regards to their current workflow, pains and wishes.

As a designer, I find it imensly useful to have a clear understanding of the most basic way in which a user would perform a task, without the app, without workarounds. This supporst me in creating a simple, straight forward and valuable UX, which will help the user reach theior goals as smoothly as possible, without any friction.

Functionality:

It was a very prolific project where I had the opportunity to come up with new ways of displaing and interacting with data due to the context in which the app would be used.

A good example of this is a vertical calendar which allows to user to always see the curent status of an item – aircraft in this case – andf based on that and possible disussions with a customer, scroll back in time and see the item’s developemtn.
